1. Make your bed in the morning

This is an acquired habit after I started living on my own. I never made my bed in the teens. However, as I got older, I realized how important it is for you to have a healthy mind set when you wake up. Making your bed will also let out moisture trapped within the duvet.

It’s also much more pleasant to go into a tidy bed at the end of the day.

2. Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water has many benefits. I’m sure you are all familiar with that, and I don’t need to elaborate. But I need to emphasize the importance with my children.

One trick that I use is I tell my children to take a sip whenever they see someone else taking a drink from their bottle, or whenever you see your water bottle (and I make sure to place their water bottle on a clean table so that it stands out)

3. Plan your days

Plan your day the night before or week ahead. I mentioned in my pervious video that I plan out monthly schedule for our family. I also plan tomorrow’s schedule before bed. I find that by just thinking about what I need to do next day gets me out the bed the next morning and I am less likely to want to snooze. I can address problems at the start rather than playing catch up all day long.

Sometimes, I will go even as far as preparing my outfit for the next day if I were to be expected at the office.

4. Everything has a home

If an item does not have a home, it is clutter. Whether it’s kitchen counter top, table, or your washroom. Put things away. Things just seem to grow on it over time if left unattended. If something takes only 2 minutes to put away, do it immediately.

5. Clean as you cook

The looks of messy kitchen and sink make me anxious. You can save time and the exhaust looking at all the dirty dishes in the sink at the end of your cooking masterpiece.

Wash dishes shortly you’re finished with them; discard any food scraps and trash as needed, rather than letting them pile up. wipe down surfaces clean as you transition into another step of the cooking process;

This simple behavior will change how you feel about cleaning up after a meal.

6. Clean up before going to bed

A little tidying up the night before will give you a better start next morning.

This also goes for cleaning up before you go on a vacation. I do a load of bed sheet, duvet covers, and towels before I go on extended vacation. At the end of vacation, it feels like I’m going to a new hotel when I come home.
