Caramel Apple Galette 🍏



This rustic French tart is a simpler take on apple pie with all the same delicious flavours!


Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust or homemade crust

  • 4 medium apples, thinly sliced

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • ¼ cup caramel sauce

  • Optional: Vanilla ice cream for serving


Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Prepare the apples: Toss the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.

  3. Assemble the galette: Roll out the pie crust on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Arrange the apples in the center, leaving a 2-inch border around the edges.

  4. Fold the edges: Gently fold the edges of the crust over the apples, pleating as you go.

  5. Brush with egg wash: Beat the egg and brush it over the crust for a golden finish.

  6. Bake: Bake the galette for 30-35 minutes, until the crust is golden and the apples are tender.

  7. Drizzle with caramel: Once out of the oven, drizzle the galette with caramel sauce. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
